When the time comes to conduct a training session, you need to make sure you have a room ready that will be suitable for everyone. You can prepare a fantastic, comprehensive training session that goes over everything in plenty of detail, but it is all too easy for your preparation to be ruined by a venue that does not have everything you need.
So, what should you be looking for in a training room? Here are some of the most important features your venue should have:
Wi-fi
Pretty much everything we do nowadays involves using a computer in some way. You might be surprised at how much of a disadvantage you will find yourself at if you do not have any access to the internet.
Many venues will provide you with a wired connection, but with so many of us using tablets and even smartphones these days to conduct our training sessions it is important that you have access to wi-fi. Make sure the connection is reasonably fast as well, as you don't want to be wasting time waiting for pages to load.
Air-conditioning and heating
Temperature is very important when you are trying to teach people something. If the room is too warm they will become drowsy and less inclined to learn, while if the temperature is too low they will spend all their time and energy shivering and in a bad mood.
Make sure you are able to adjust the temperature of your training room, whether that is with an air-conditioning system or simply some windows you can open. You will need to be able to make the room cooler as your session goes on, as it will quickly heat up when it is full of people.
Flexible layout
There is no such thing as an 'average' training session. You might have people facing the front of the room while you give a presentation or moving around the room performing activities. Some sessions even include both! You need to be able to set up your room to accommodate this.
Ideally, you will be able to arrange the room to suit your needs. There is no point booking out a standard boardroom with chairs surrounding a large table if you cannot redo the layout to fit with your training sessions. Make sure your venue is flexible regarding setting your room up.
Catering
You might assume that your training session is too short to bother with catering, but it is not something you ever really want to go without. Even if it is just a place to grab a drink of water or a coffee, some kind of food and drink facility is essential if you want to keep your delegates happy.
Cranmore Park's training rooms offer all this, and more. If you are looking to hold a training session - or another event - in the Birmingham or Solihull area, you will find few places as well-equipped as Cranmore Park to make sure everything goes swimmingly.
